Hemorrhoid Cream

Hermorrhoids are abnormal dilations of the veins of the rectum or anus, similar with varices. If it is normal that the veins of the recto-anal area swell slightly at the time of defecation, the hemorrhoid term indicates the distension or the recurring or relatively permanent congestion of these veins. They are noticed by a clear red bleeding after having gone to the restroom, by a painful defecation and sometimes by discomfort to remain sitting. This momentary effct would affect 50 % of the old population of more than 50 years. The increase in blood pressure in the veins of the area of the anus is almost always at the origin of the hemorrhoids, this is why pregnant women are prone there. This venous pressure also rises in the event of constipation, since the efforts made to expel are important.

Located under the skin which surrounds the anus, the external hemorrhoids are generally painful since the skin is very sensitive to this place. Sometimes, a blood clot is formed in the dilated vein, which causes an acute pain and inflammation. In this case, the hemorrhoids are characterized by a small bluish and hard tumefaction under the skin.

The internal hemorrhoids are located in the rectum. Contrary to the external hemorrhoids, those are not suffering because the membranes of the rectum have few nervous terminations. The internal hemorrhoids can give the impression which the rectum is full. The efforts to go to the restroom and friction can make them bleed. In addition, it happens that the hemorrhoids are dilated so much that they leave the anus. These hémorroïdes exteriorized (or "prolapsus hémorroïdaire") can cause itchings or bleed.
