Originally from North Africa and the Mediterranean Fenugreek is a plant grown annually in Asia, including India and China. Fenugreek is one of the oldest medicinal plants of culinary history of mankind. It used its principles as a Pharaonic Egypt aromatic, about 1 500 BC to embalm the dead and purify the air in homes and places of worship. Its seeds were used in bakery, a culinary practice that persists in modern Egypt as well as India.

In addition to its digestive properties, it attributed its power to fight infection and inflammation of the airways, to facilitate childbirth and lactation, treat skin wounds and rheumatic pain. From the seventh century BC, it began to grow in the Middle East. He was also introduced in India and China where it was quickly incorporated into the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia (India) and the Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM).
